About Jill Stefko

Jill Stefko holds a PhD in Counseling, a Master’s degree in Metaphysics, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with extensive study in color symbolism. The theme of her PhD thesis was the interrelationship between the psychic and the psychological. She left her career as a counselor to fulfill a childhood dream of writing about psychology and the paranormal in 2002 because she prefers dealing with the paranormal to dealing with the human abnormal. Most of her clients were targets of abuse – psychological, physical and/or sexual.

Jill has studied the paranormal since 1957, when, as a child, she bought her first parapsychology book, then read books she could find about other areas of the field. In fall, 1965, she conducted her first investigation.

Jill gives workshops and lectures, writes for selected Internet web sites, and has been a guest on radio call-in talk shows and local TV, as an expert in the paranormal. Jill created, hosted and served as a paranormal expert for walking ghost tours of the city’s historic district, and worked with the former Bethlehem Tourism Authority.

Jill is the Director and founding member of FIRE-Psi, the Foundation for the Research, Investigation and Education of Psychic Phenomena, a parapsychological organization, founded in 1996. Mission: Adhere to scientific criteria when investigating, researching, educating and counseling experients, debunking frauds and alleviating fear of the unknown. She co-founded its division, Paranormal Universe, in 2011 in order to expand into other areas of the subject. She’s a member of the Parapsychology Foundation’s Psychic Explorers Club and an associate member: CSICOP, the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry that supports critical scientific investigation of claims involving extraordinary humans.

Jill is a Shamanistic practitioner, Reiki Master and retired mental health counselor. She has expertise in PowWow, the healing art of the Pennsylvania Dutch, designs hex signs and gives lectures about the Dutch and hexology. She has studied Western European Paganism and its history since 1962, AmerIndian religion and history since 1985, Celtic astrology, beginning in 1987, traditional Western astrology since 1968, and traditional and nontraditional Tarot, from 1979. She has written articles about these subjects, as well as animal symbolism and behavior, psychology, and crime.

Her master’s thesis theme was how the orthodox church persecuted the Pagans while embracing their traditions.
