About Helga George

Dr. Helga George is a plant biochemist with two advanced degrees in plant pathology. She has both a Ph.D. from Cornell University in Ithaca and an M.S. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She has over twenty years of research experience in the plant sciences, primarily examining the biochemical interactions between plant pathogens and their hosts.

Helga has published peer-reviewed research articles, eight entries for the ABC-CLIO Encyclopedia of Cultivated Plants, and a large number of articles on the internet. She relishes explaining science to laymen, particularly that of plants and their interactions with other organisms. In addition, she also has had a good training in the humanities, enabling her to put scientific results into a historical context.
